Egypt's company for metro management and operation announced completing all final preparations and raising emergency state at the 1st & 2nd lines due to starting the new academic year 2023 tomorrow Saturday Oct. 1st. According to directives of the minister of transport General lieutenant Kamel Elwazier, managing director Eng. Ali Alfadaly and chairman Eng. Khalid Sabra, Emergency state was raised in all stations at the 1st & 2nd lines, all obstacles which may face our students in metro, should be removed. Today in official statement, the company declared that the process of disinfection and sterilization is continuous in all trains, stations, platforms, ticket gates, tickets' outlets and any touchable places by passengers, in addition to commitment of wearing masks during entering stations at 1st & 2nd lines implementing directives of ministry of health for taking precautionary measures to fight the 6th wave of Corona virus, coinciding with starting the new academic year. Taking immediate measures to eliminate any problems, issuing directives to drivers to stop the trains on time and give opportunity to passengers for disembarking and embarking without affecting on operation, maintaining the headway and the timetable for the 1st & 2nd lines as estimated with 1090 trips daily, 488 trips at the 1st line and 602 trips at the 2nd line. As planned the first trains from terminals will be at 5:15 am until 1:00 am after midnight. The last train from Helwan station will be at 11:30 pm and from the new Elmarg at 11:40 pm, from Shoubra Elkhima and Elmonib at 11:50. The last train at the 1st line will meet with the last one at the 2nd line at Sadat station at 12:15 am. The last train at the 2nd line will meet the last one at the 3rd line at Attaba station at 12:10 pm. From his part, metro spokesperson Ahmed Abelhady Bakeer announced that the preparation includes adding some extra empty trains for absorbing any congestion may happen during morning and evening jam to make it easy for metro users, increasing first aid men in stations and platforms to deal with any case immediately as a free service, spreading all emergency teams in the stations to deal with any failures may happen and solve them at once, emphasizing the full coordination and Cooperation with police men to exist and spread in all stations and making fixed and moving ambushes in stations, platforms and inside trains during operation besides the continuous observation through CCTV which cover all stations at line 1&2 in order to observe all negatives and dealing with them at once. Abelhady confirmed that there are recorded messages through PA at the 1st & 2nd lines during the Operation for giving directives such as how to protect yourself from coronavirus and the correct steps which you must follow, emphasizing on wearing masks and not cover only the chin, helping people of determination during disembarking and embarking trains, make the seats free for elderly and people with special needs to make it easy for them, allowing disembarking first then embarking, be away from the edge of platforms, not dealing with vendors or sympathizing with beggars trying to eliminate those negatives, also not throwing garbage inside the trains to maintain the civilized appearance of metro which belongs to Egyptians. Metro spokesperson added that the work is underway in providing the best service for the passengers, affirming that there are many ways to communicate with the company for receiving complaints, suggestions and inquiries day and night through the hotline 16048, whatsApp 01221116038 or the official site cairometro.gov.eg or mobile application by both languages English & Arabic or through the official page of metro on Facebook. Besides complaints' offices in some stations that are affiliated with the unified government complaints system of the cabinet to receive all complaints related to all parts not only the metro. He confirmed that the goal of the company is respecting the citizens and providing the best service.
